The terracotta temples of Guptipara

Terra cotta or terra-cotta is a “baked earth”, a type of earthenware. The 4 beautiful Vaishnava temples such as Chaitanya,Brindabanchandra,Ramchandra and Krishnachandra Temples of Guptipara were made off by the terracotta.
The complex constructed on elevated platforms between 17th and 18th century. At first look , I could not take off my eyes from the magnificent terracotta ekratna (single spire) Ramchandra Temple in front of me. It was not just a piece of art and sculpture but poetry that moves you from within. Once an unknown poet wrote " The terracotta shines in the westerly sun
when the man and the woman
fly on the temple courtyard
on the wings of time"

I visited the temples and collected the story regarding the terracotta temples of Guptipara for my connect friends.

I have made a video on the temple. You will be able to watch the video by clicking on the link
