yes I can imagine places to see are simply too many and you can never visit all of them … but indeed good reason to come back .
From Sal de Riso I like its Delizia al Limone, it is very soft and delicate and of course its creation Ricotta e pera, delicious! In general I like very much the Caprese cake, the Sfogliatella (typical pastry from Naples) for which I prefer the “riccia” version and last the Babba, other typical dessert / cake from Naples.
Do you know and have you tasted the Sfogliatella and Babba?
@MoniDi , you’re very welcome. Cheesecake is so heavy and people need to try it once a while. Yes, I make all kind of Cheese cake and my favorite one is lemon cheesecake.
The one on the picture is the plain NY Cheesecake but with little modification like adding whipped cream and fruits.
Wow @MoniDi . Your photos are stunning, I almost wanted to lick the melting gelato it looked so mouth watering. Just wondering, how did you know which desserts were typical for each part of Italy that you visited?
Honestly, I didn’t know which are the traditional desserts for the area, except gelato which is just common sense. I had the Torta Caprese on Capri and after I got back home, only then I realised it originates from the island itself. I’ve tried cannoli before but I was not in Italy, I was in Poland actually. There was an annual market with Italian products.
I read an article about the traditional Italian dishes before my trip and I remembered to try Delizia al Limone which was surprisingly good. And the homemade lemon cake was the perfect complement from our host, nothing special but brought up the good mood in the morning.
That sounds amaxing @MoniDi . It can be hard as a foreigner sometimes to know what is local or traditional to certain areas. Perhaps we should start a food thread dedicated to this where people can share dishes local or traditional to their town or region? What do you think?
That sound’s like a great idea! If you have any ideas, you could easily write them down and make an amazing post. The only thing necessary is your will to do it. @MoniDi Yummy ! Now I ‘ve got even more reasons to visit the Amalfi coast! If you’re ever in Argentina I recommend you try anything with dulce de leche, for example an alfajor (a basic classic one is like a cookie sandwich with caramel milk filling and covered in chocolate) if you’re interested in food from around the world you can check out @Cecilita ’s post series, the sweets edition is coming soon!
Can you imagine, I’ve never tried dulce de leche before even though they sell it here as well. Alfajor sounds like I won’t be able to breathe after I eat, all the chocolate and caramel but that’s what I live for. Is it your favourite?
I’ve been seeing photos of Argentina through my Social Media and it looks amazing. Now I have an even better reason to go and visit it because I can try all the best desserts.
Yes, Argentina is very beautiful! If you wish to learn more search #TeamArgentina and there’s a complete post series worth reading before you come here! I looove desserts, I’ve got several favorites but alfajores definitely make it to the top 5
