The Statue of Unity - Virtual visit (Recap)

Hello Local Guides!

Yesterday, on 9th May, I hosted my 4th virtual meetup on “THE STATUE OF UNITY” with 30 Local Guides from around the country; including a special guest connect moderator @AdrianLunsong .

Key points of this Meetup:

We’ve started our meetup with introducing ourselves with each other.

Then after a beautiful presentation of the Statue of Unity was then presented by the local guide @Kunjan811 in which some interesting information about the SoU was presented. Likes, how the Statue of Unity was built, the main attractions around the SoU, how to go, where to stay, and much more. Here is the full presentation.

The Statue of Unity is built in dedication to Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It is the tallest statue in the world. The Statue of Unity is an iconic 182 meter-tall statue situated on the island of Sadhu-Bet. Located in Narmada district of Gujarat state.

  • Tour of Valley of Flowers
  • Tour of Sardar Sarovar Dam and its dykes
  • Boating

  • Trekking in Zarvani Eco-Tourism Area
  • Bird Watching
  • Shopping

After the presentation, I’ve presented a 360 virtual tour of the Statue of Unity with everyone. Here are some places we have virtually visited on this tour. Statue of Unity, Viewing Gallery, Arial View of Statue of Unity, Sardar Sarovar Dam, Valley of flowers, and much more…

Finally, a laser show at the Statue of Unity was presented by local guide @Tejal

This statue was used by one of the India teams in Quiz Connect as a question in Round 3, so I was interested to find out more about it! :grimacing:
