The Sai Baba Temple at Prati Shirdi Shirgaon near Pune is difficult both to locate and access since the road is narrow and people around are tired of giving directions so it is advisable to take the help of GPS to directly reach the place. The queues can get long since this is seriously a Prati-Shirdi. Sai baba looks divine and the temple itself is a replica of the Shirdi Shrine. Make sure to attend the Arati to feel the vibes and the positive energy. Maha prasad is served after 11:30 am at a small donation of Rs.30 and no charges apply for children below 5 years of age.
The temple is crowded on weekdays as well but spacious to easily accommodate large gatherings without major jams. Ample parking facility is available separately for 2-wheelers and 4-wheels and a lot of small businesses are lined up outside the temple premises of which the top attraction is the fresh vegetables and fruits available from the local village. So make sure you carry a lot of cloth bags or keep spare space in the car trunk.
This place is close to Pune especially if you are living in the West or Northside can escape very easily to a wonderful place and enjoy the Shree Sai Darshan. Just get on the old Pune-Mumbai highway and the bifurcation to Shirgaon Shirdi Mandir is at Somatane fata.
Overall it was a half-day spiritual weekend trip full of peace and happiness.
Have you been to a beautiful and blissful temple recently? I’d be interested in knowing your experiences.
Until then… Happy Guiding
Accessibility Features
Since this is a modern temple built recently some basic accessibility features are available in the form of accessible parking and well-paved and leveled entry paths for a wheelchair, though there could be some discontinuities along the way.
What Else To Do In Pune
While you are in Pune, these are the top-recommended places:
Totally agree with you @TusharSuradkar This place is indeed a replica of Shirdi and one can get peaceful and serene vibes just by a mere visit. I had bought the Kandi pedha (milk-sweet) from the small shop there, it was totally yummy. Thanks for taking me back to my trip memories
Happened to read your review of this place @MayuriKubal on Google Maps. It is a well-phrased and concise review that touches on all important things to expect at the temple, especially the pedha.
We did buy the pedha sold near the temple but not aware it is named so. I have heard about the Kandi Pedha around Satara that is south of Pune and it is dark-colored and studded with sugar granules.
And a nicely captured front view too, it is a perfect shot
Thanks a lot for your kind words @TusharSuradkar Glad that you liked my review and photo Yes, the description of Kandi Pedha is perfect. I just love it so much that taking one cannot satisfy my sweet tooth.
Very beautiful Temple. You have captured architecture of temple very nicely @TusharSuradkar . Your post is very nice and content is full of information. I will visit in future. Very useful post and thanks for the same friend.
