Have you felt proud of sitting in the 3-wheeler or Auto Rickshaw? Sharing this COOL version of our home grown public transport and how it is a vagabond in itself!
A CRAZY ADVENTURE activity ‘RIKSHAW RUN’ rules the roads in India thrice in an Year. One needs to have a penchant for chaos, adventure and Imodium as taking on the Run is the least sensible and perhaps the greatest decision one can ever make!!
It is an event that happens year on year in India since past 11 years now, and the idea is to race a glorified Lawnmower across the roads of India to cover a 3000+ Kms across India in 2 weeks. A crazy adventure activity that lets you tour around india in a forced open AC 3-wheeler. This crazy activity is curated by Mr. Tom and it has gained good traction amongst Foreigners to visit India.
Some Good to know Info: The idea was curated in Bali over a drinks session with 4-7 friends. It is actually a charity event for their Cause “World Teacher Aid” , where 3 member teams drive a rickshaw on a route. One gets to save the world a little bit. Every team is asked to raise a minimum of £1000 for charity, at least £500 of which goes to the Rickshaw Run official charity “Cool Earth”.
How do you start:

Pack a pack bag with supplies.

Decorate your ride

For stay, figure out Hostels in India, as they are colourful and brim with cool people.

Know the route, or carry the map.

Wake up super early to beat the rush.

Know how to fix the vehicle, since break downs are common.

Reach the finishing point, and collect your prize or the certificate. Take a picture obviously!
Gear up people…They are taking registration for Jan 2020. The route is curated before, you just have to register, pack your clothes, raise the funds (for that too they have put up a plan) and show up. Any adventure seekers out there?
