“La Cascade du Ray Pic”, besides being the most beautiful waterfall in the Ardeche department, is a very interesting geological place because it is a natural volcanic site where the river “la Bougres” falls more than 60 meters in the canyon.
Liked the ‘Slow-mo’ (video) and the stills too; I am from India, could you give some details, please ? Interested to know more - hope you will TAG me (‘@TravellerG’).
The Ray-Pic waterfall is a natural waterfall that springs out among the basaltic organs. It is located in the town of Péreyres, in the heart of the Cévennes ardéchoises, just over 1,000 meters above sea level. This place is classified as a natural volcanic site since 1931.
You can access the waterfall from the D 215C, which connects the village of Burzet to Lachamp-Raphaël. From the parking located on the edge of the road, a marked path allows access by a walk of about 15 minutes to a gazebo.
Warning! Since the 90’s, swimming in the Bourges is prohibited because of the risk of landslide.

I’m interested to see Ardeche in France. It looks like an amazing region to go sailing and having a rest close to Lyon. I haven’t been to this part of France so far, but I would love to gather more information about it. Good luck for your trips to Rochecolombe and Mont Gerbier de Jonc.
