The ratio of 'total reviews' and 'actual published reviews' of Google Maps

:tada: Google Local Guides turns 11 :tada:. This is so amazing. On this occasion some of my milestone of Review in Google Maps i have been trying to compress it. So that I can present my next reviews in a way that is more organized, complete, authentic, and useful to everyone.

I have given 666 reviews on Google Maps so far. Which is a new milestone. But actually 646 reviews have been published. Which is Review publish rate is 97%. My profile shows 666 reviews, but my husband gave me a screenshot of these 646 reviews. He can see how many of my reviews have actually been published.

When I give a review, it shows as published, but over time it becomes unpunished. It is a bit difficult for me to check each of the 666 reviews and see which one is not published. Can my unpublished review list be seen in incognito mode, can anyone assist me
about this?

This is my Profile’s View from my Google maps ID

My next observation regadring on unpublished review.

Now these reviews can be unpublished for various reasons. I’m not paying attention to why the reviews were unpublished, what the reason is.

★This is my profile view From another local Guides ID

Now what can be the solutions

shoud I, re-editing the reviews, update the pictures and videos, if so, will the review be considered fake or spamming as furthermore?

Delete the reviews and review them again

leave them as they are in the unpublished state, let them remain as they are.

It will be highly appreciated if Any one can assist me with your valuable observation.

All fellow Local guides, have you seen how many of your reviews have actually been published? And what is the percentage of them being published?
Please don’t forget to comment.

Little mathematics from my side :hugs:
(Mine 646/666x100=97% ; where, total review =666, actually published review = 646)

Gratitude for spending your Time

Hello @Trishatishu,

Good question. In the past, the recommendation was indeed to open a browser session in incognito at the same time showing side by side another session being logged into Google, scrolling down simultaneously and all review, you do not see in incognito, would be those, being hidden. However, not so long ago we discovered, in incognito mode, you can scroll back only 20(?) reviews or photos. So that doesn’t seem to work anymore, but you can give it a try anyway.

But since your husband also a has a Google ID, the procedure with two sessions would work for you, if you can compare the sessions your are logged in with your husband’s.

If you are registered for the T100 system, it can show you easily. Otherwise opening an incognito session, can show you quickly by comparing the contributions with the number of posts in your profile:

As you can see in my case, 703 out of 707 reviews and 262 out 265 ratings are public.

The same applies to hidden photos and videos.

You also might have a look at these discussion:

First things first, congratulations @Trishatishu! Reaching a 97% publish rate is actually quite high, so you are doing a great job with your content!:clap:

To answer your questions:

  1. Checking unpublished reviews: You are correct that viewing your profile via Incognito mode is the only way to see what is public. Currently, I’m in the process of cleaning up my profile as well!

A ‘tip’ from my expressions: You can copy your review list while logged in, then do the same via Incognito mode. Paste both into separate Google Docs and use the ‘Compare Documents’ feature. It’s a much faster way to pinpoint exactly which reviews are hidden!

  1. To edit or delete? My recommendation is to re-edit rather than delete. Deleting and reposting can often trigger spam filters again. Try removing the photos first, saving the text, and seeing if it publishes. Then, add the photos back one by one.

Another important reason to avoid deleting is that you will lose all the Views the review has already gained. Even if a review is currently hidden, those views are part of your impact!

Keep up the great work! :handshake::blush:

Hope this helps and answers your questions…

good topics, eventually your review rating of publishing is superb.
Congratulations :confetti_ball: @Trishatishu

So many thing you have cleared @WilfriedB,
Gratitude for them. And of couse i will apply them, try to be more organised Nd authentic to review a particular place.

And thank you again for your kind comment.

Thank you so much @palmad1
I will keep eye on that. Thank you again for your recommendations and suggestions.

Thanks a lot for the feedback @Trishatishu.

Please let us know, if you have success or more question.

I forgot to mention:

  • Four of my hidden reviews, I never found, because I could never scroll to the end, i.e. the oldest review
  • If the review or photo links to an Unknown Place, because a business has been deleted, I don’t do anything,
  • If the review or photo links to an Unknown Place, because a point of interest, such as a historical landmark has been deleted, I did successfully appeal for it in the past and the place including my photos had been reinstated.

Thank you @Soykot_azam, for your kind words.

Thank you for this important update, @WilfriedB! :folded_hands:

That is a really important observation. I think we both jumped in to help @Trishatishu at the same time yesterday, and I completely missed your comment and that observation while I was typing mine!

I was able to use the side-by-side comparison method a few months ago, but I just tested it again and found I couldn’t even scroll past 10 reviews now! It looks like Google has definitely changed things recently, making that trick a bit of a ‘dead end’ now.

@Trishatishu, just wanted to tag you here to update my advice; since Incognito route is limited, using your husband’s logged-in account to do that comparison is a much more reliable way forward now.

It’s a constant learning curve here, and I’m glad we have guides like you, @WilfriedB, to keep us all updated! :handshake:

You are welcome @palmad1 and thank you for the feedback!

The trick still works to quickly compare the total number of public versus posted contributions.

Besides that, I still have two old Google profiles I can log in with, instead of using anonymous (although, I might use the anonymous aka private browser session for that, so the browser doesn’t store that profile). If you have more than one mail address, I think, you can create an additional profile, as long as you make sure not to post anything under the “dummy” profile, as it would be against the rules. That’s certainly easier than asking somebody else.

This process was always a bit tedious @WilfriedB, and now it is impossible. Am I correct that @AdamGT is devising something in his system to deal with this issue?

Hello dear friend @Trishatishu
97% success is quite good…
Of course our dear @WilfriedB and @palmad1 have given good tips.
Best wishes…
Regards
:handshake::bouquet::folded_hands:

Not really impossible @tony_b. As long as you have access to a second Google profile, you can still do the same thing.

As far as I know, @AdamGT is searching for solution since a long time, but I am not aware, if he got closer. I wouldn’t hold my breath, instead continue to do what we can do by ourselves.

Thanks for suggesting a workaround, @WilfriedB! :+1:

@WilfriedB

Thats so cool thing to organised the review. And i must say do appeal for a particular review is so much to-the-point solution amd i much appreciate your suggestion. Thank you @WilfriedB for your valuable observation.

Thank you @TravellerG Ji for your kind comment.

You are sincerely welcome, dear friend @Trishatishu
Prayerfully
