The Pyrenees mountains.

I had the privilege to invited for a 6 days tour in the Pyrenees, group of 6 people. over 400km in Catalonia along the border with France.

This journey started from Barcelona after we left the airport. slowly the landscape being to change, from the suburbs to open space. agricultural areas, lots of wheat and corn fields as well as apple and pears orchards. as we climb up more we face the mediterranean forest, we passed many small and beautiful villages. at one of them we slept, it was look like middle of nowhere but that exactly what so amazing, just us and the nature.

Ordesa National Park is an impressive and beautiful place. the oldest nature reserve in Spain. we did there two days trek, each day few kilometers of walk, not so hard but definitely magnificent scenery. what was so speicel this time is the fact that is still pre season and snow at the high Pyrenees is massive, all over the area. you almost can’t drive off road because of that. a special and powerful experience.

we had a tour of snow-bike, three hours into the heart of the mountains. it was simply stunning, the landscape is so wild and its totally great and diffrent way to see the nature. one more great experience that we had was rafting, in a cold river start in Escalona and finish at Ainsa. very powerful expirince that all the group take part.

The snow had completely challenged us, the drive is super hard and in some places we had to use the shovels to take us out from the trail. I remember that we stop at one cafe after we came down, then I spoke with old man and he told me he don’t remember so much snow for decades.

food and coffee play a huge part of our trip, we spot a lot for a Cortado its a double espresso with with a small amount of milk. the food was very tasty, a lot of meat and the most special dish is a soup call Ollia. big bowl full of pork, fat, herds and many other “secret” Ingredients that make this soup so special… Magal told us If you feel bad, or you suffer from cold you drink it and after that your power comes back to you.

What make the different between good tours to excellent is the guide, Eli Magal. he is super professional,

has a unique knowledge about variety of topics. nature, animals, history and the most important thing you can trust him by heart, he knows how to lead safely. simply a great pleasure to be with him.

you cannot find those characteristics at any guide, and this give you extremely safe feeling regarding every move you make.
