The pub's mascotte poses for a portrait

She is Grisù and many years ago she became the most loyal customer of this pub where she spends her days until late in the evening dozing and asking customers for cuddles

Yes @helga19 ! The interesting part is that she was a stray cat and one day the pub owner start to give her some food. Grisù start to come out of the pub always more often so she was adopted by the owner.

The funny fact is that the pub owner live near the pub and tried to bring Grisù to his home but she didn’t want to stay there. She would like to live outside, as a stray cat, and enter and leave the pub when she feels like it!

We think she has around 16 years but nobody could be sure

Now she have a veterinary coverage and food! During the summer, when the pub has a closing period of 4 weeks some of the customers that live around bring her food and water outside the pub because the owner is not in zone

Grisù is a lucky stray cat!

Thank you @RiccyB for your reply.

This story is incredible! It touch me to tears!

I think this cat can be simbol of this cafe and this town. She is lucky! She is alive in her 16.

And she loves the freedom!

It is nice.

She is stray cat and she has veterinary care, food and love of visitors.Excellent!

Do you hear about the story of Istanbul cat?

He was stray cat too.But every day he went to cafe to have food.

All people love him and give him food and water.

He loves to see near the sea opposite the cafe and watch the sea and ships.

He was about 12 years old.

He died in 2016.

People of Istanbul built him the monument on the bankment.

It is great memory about him.

A interesting cat story @RiccyB . I once found a stray looking exactly likeGrisù but even though I didn’t have a pub, she became part of my family and when she grew up she was for ever tormented by the boys in the neighborhood until she sadly passed away :disappointed:

@AdamGT thank you for sharing your story! Grisù is not tormented…she has a very good body guard army thanks to the customers

Hello @RiccyB ,

This is a very nice story! It seems that this cat has found the perfect way to balance love for freedom and need of stability. :slightly_smiling_face: I am not surprised she reached this old age in such a good shape.

Grisù was the name of one of my favourite cartoon characters when I was a kid, a baby dragon who wanted to be a firefighter, hilarious! :slightly_smiling_face: Did you know that?

If you love this animal as much as we do, you will find many beautiful pictures here: Happy International Cat Day!

I loved both stories about Grisù and the Istanbul Tombili cat!

Thank you so much for tagging me, @helga19 . And thank you so much for introducing Grisù, @RiccyB .

Just this weekend I read about a bookstore in Canada, called Otis & Clementine’s Books & Coffee, where you can get a book and … adopt a kitty!

Maybe we could create a list on Google Maps of places where visitors can meet some unexpected customers, like cats, dogs, or other animals. That would be really awesome!

@DeniGu it could be an interesting list! Here in Italy there is some place where it is possible!

Have also a look of the Crazy Cat cafè in Milan (https://goo.gl/maps/psh1TbMpSpRzV1Sd6)

Here cats are at home and they have overhead passages to reach points where customers cannot come in!

It’s like is customer are guests in cats’ house!

This Crazy Cat Café looks so relaxing and definitely deserves a place on our list, @RiccyB .

At first I thought it was like the cat cafes in Japan. Visitors there pay per hour to enjoy the presence of kitties, but try not to bother them too much. On the other hand, the cafe you introduced looks more like a place you’d go to have a cup of coffee and have the occasional feline come to you for cuddles. So awesome, thank you for sharing!
