Bonjour @WilfriedB
Cordialement,
Claude Richard
Bonsoir @claude_richard,
for now, we can only patiently wait and try to understand the new behavior. @AdamGT is facing even more problems than us, but working hard to get the leaderboards straight.
Regarding the editing of the text, I recommend @MortenCopenhagen’s article “Formatting your topic to look nicer”
je te souhaite quand même une bonne soirée ![]()

There are a lot of emojis to chose from. Just type : to get started. ![]()
Bonjour,
Thank you @claude_richard and @WilfriedB. We have just one last October Leaderboard post to get out, the Movers & Shakers. I tried yesterday but once again I failed to do so in the time that I had and now here at least it is already, December 1 so time to start rolling out the November boards. I hope to make better progress today,
@Rednewt74 Unfortunately, this post does not appear when I use the search feature for leaderboard. I was alerted of the post by email since I follow you as a user (and friend).
Yes it is for use by just moderators (I think) and only in the celebration category.
I’d argue that the ability to track, follow, and compile all of the Leaderboards should trump any other category consideration. I know @AdamGT has previously stated otherwise, but I would love to see one easy place on Connect to show the Leaderboards since there is finally an official recognition through the leaderboard tag.
Adam is insistent that they need to be in separate categories. I agree that they should accommodate him.
It does concern me a little that the system that we are so invested in is dependent on the health and well-being of one individual.
Hello dear @Rednewt74 , I couldn’t find your post The problem of searching for the T100 Leaderboards using leaderboard, but I found it with this search command: “leaderboards” @Rednewt74. Please take a look at the ss below.

Prasad my friend,
That’s brilliant. I am tempted to mark it as “The Solution” . Your perseverance and ingenuity are greatly appreciated
Strike through
Thank you dear friend @Rednewt74 , I am so glad you liked the comment and marked it as ‘The solution’. It means a lot.
I don’t even know where to begin in this forum anymore.
It’s NOT intuitive, and perhaps I just need an old fashioned VIDEO on how to find the things I got familiar with last year, including all those who I frequently ‘chatted’ with.
Since I have very little time to spend on Maps this year, I was hoping to be able to ‘pop in’ from time to time just to see what’s been happening, but apparently that won’t be working for me until I can at least sort out what Morton’s suggestion on settings really does.
If I choose/select an item in Morton’s link to settings, do I get an email in that category when someone’s posted?
How do I find what a specific person has posted recently, since I can’t be able to find a way to search or click on that person. Perhaps I’ve just lost my ability to navigate sites like this, and need a bit more handholding these days.
A little help, or, should I just forget about Connect? - Steve
Hi steve, I’ve been waiting for you to check in. Connect for him is using the discourse platform. It actually has some powerful search features, but as you pointed out it’s not intuitive. I’m in the process of trying to write an article about them. Depending on the settings, which I don’t remember off the top of my head, you can get email or app icon notifications about post that you’re interested in. Sorry I’m away from my desk but I will get back to you soon. Take care
@Rednewt74,
Glad to hear from you. The reason for my post was that I finally saw someone familiar (you). NICE update showing your photo, always great to put a face to the words being sent back and forth.
You mentioned tags, specifically leaderboard. I’m assuming that the more people use it, the more results I’ll be finding when I search for those tags.
I used to have a link to the PM page so that I could send messages to those I know, but that link is now dead, instead of a pleasant redirect. No more messages, and posts only, or is there just a new link.
Hey, being on the road and still reaching out, commendable. Thanks for doing so, glad to hear from you again. - Steve
@Rednewt74,
Also, I find it ODD that when I click on the leaderboard tag I just created (after posting), that I can see posts, BUT when hovering over the author, although there’s a hyperlink, it doesn’t take you anywhere. What’s it really supposed to do? @MortenCopenhagen ?
Here’s an example: Topics tagged leaderboard
You can see that @AdamGT posted it, but nothing happens when you click on his icon.
Good to see you drop in Steve, long time no see. It takes a while to figure things out here now, most of us are still working on that. You can also follow people to see their posts.
Here’s a link that shows how.
@TerryPG,
Really nice to hear from you. I’ll check out the link you sent shortly. Last year was pretty special. I had to do a lot of travelling, and had a fair bit of free time during those travels. Maps filled the gap. This year is significantly different. I’ve coined it “The year of change” since nearly every aspect of life seems to have changed substantially. I guess it makes sense that Connect would come out with a less intuitive interface (perhaps making it a contest/challenge for Connect members and only those who persevere stick it out). Just curious what inspired Google to create something so different, and where’d they find the new design criteria ideas come from? PERHAPS I should word it a different way…now that you and some of the regulars have used it a bit, are there significant advantages to these continuous timelines instead of individual searchable threads? I can only guess that it might have to do with server CPU time and not necessarily functionality. Curious to see your feedback. Cheers Terry - Steve
Hey, @shunsader It’s good to see you here. Unfortunately, I can’t answer your questions either. We’re all learning a new skill on this remodelled Connect platform.
Yes I remember you used to Private Message some of us, and the new way is NOT intuitive, if I may borrow your words. I’ve PM’d two persons so far, and they appear to have received my messages and responded too. But I can’t see my PM mailbox with Inbox and Sent items like before. Can anyone else shed some light on this??
@tony_b did you try (on the desktop) to click your profile photo - well, the blue circle with T in your case? Then you see
Then, clicking “Messages” brings:
