The second-largest port city in Japan is also one of the most beautiful places to live and travel around. In most history books back home Yokohama was one of the first cities we studied Japanese history. It was the Black Ship Fleet that entered these ports nearly a quarter-century ago.
If and when you ever decide to visit Japan, take a stroll down cobbled streets in the evening to sample the nightlife. Explore the bars and taverns here and enjoy a drink called " Noge-Shomp" or Noge Champagne, a Japanized version of the classic High Ball in the U.S.
After meals, take a stroll along the promenades of Minato Mirai and feel the convergence of East and West aesthetics. You could easily spend a nice weekend here with plenty to do and explore. Take a boat cruise along the harbor and experience what Mathew Perry saw before modernization. The waterway is the same, just better built.
I also recommend visiting another post here on Connect of another Yokohama lover.
