The Pink city Of India - Jaipur

**Introduction -**Jaipur or we can say " The pink city" is a capital city of Rajasthan state of India. Jaipur is situated only 248 kms away from capital city New Delhi. Jaipur is founded by King of Amer Jai singh II in 1727 named after his name ‘Jai’. Jaipur is famous around the tourist because of a city of golden triangle of India consists of New Delhi and Agra which is a total travel of 448 kms. This golden triangle cover all the most attraction places of India includes Taj Mahal. Jaipur play a important role in the history of india. Most of the fort is basically Situated near to this city. It has Nahargarh fort, Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal, Amer fort and Jaigarh fort. Apart from historical background this city also rich in modern infrastructure. It has world trade park, Metro rail, International Airport, wide roads and modern Architecture.

How to reach -

  1. By Air - Jaipur has International airport in the middle of the city.

  2. By train - Jaipur railway station is well connected to New Delhi. there are number of trains from Delhi to Jaipur

  3. By Bus - You can also Take a sleeper coach bus direct from New Delhi to Jaipur.

The Pink City

Now you are thinking why it called as pink City of India? Because most of the structure of city is completely made up of Pink stone. Due to these structure local has also started painting their homes and shops in pink turning a part of city completely Pink in colour.

Interesting fact - Most the shops and homes are painted in pink colour but due to attacks of weather condition it is turn into red. So most of tourist question about it is orange colour but when it is painted it is pink in colour.

Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal basically named in Hindi and its english translation is Air palace .So in Hawa Mahal ‘Hawa’ means Air and ‘Mahal’ means palace. Hawa Mahal is built bu the king by Maharaja Sawai Pratap singh in 1799 and designed by Lal Chand Ustad. It is constructed by red and pink stone. The five stories structure from front looks like honeycomb of beehive. it has total 953 small windows called as Jharokha. This mahal is built fro the royal ladies to observe the street of Jaipur But without seen by others because abeying the rule called as purdah “means women has not show her face to outside mens”.The whole architure also provide good ventilation to make it cool during warm days.

Interesting fact :- Most of the tourist coming to Jaipur to see Hawa mahal from street view, they think it is the front of Hawa mahal but actually it is back side of Hawa Mahal.

Nahargarh Fort

Nahargarh Fort is situated in the Aravali ranges of Rajasthan state of India. It is 12 kms away from the center of the city Jaipur. This fort is built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in 1734. This fort is now converted into art museum by department of archaeological survey of India. Inside this fort there are several number of artefacts built by Indian and foreign artist is placed. The wall of the fort extent to the Jaigarh fort which is another fort situated within the city.

Also Just after the right side of the entrance gate of the fort there is a wax museum which is another center of attraction of this place. Other then fort there are several other attraction with in the premises of fort such as Bawadi, Wax museum, Sun set view point, Hanuman temple, etc.

This fort is situated at much height that you can see half of Jaipur city from there.

Interesting fact :- Just because of its height and out of reach to the enemy this fort has never been invaded or attacked by any ruler of India.

Jal Mahal

Jal Mahal is hindi name of this fort whose translation in english stands for Water Place So in Jal Mahal 'Jal" Stands for Water and ‘Mahal’ stands for Palace. The palace and the lake around it were renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai singh of Amber.The Jal Mahal palace is an architectural showcase of the Rajput style of architecture (common in Rajasthan) on a grand scale. The building has a picturesque view of the lake itself but owing to its seclusion from land is equally the focus of a viewpoint from the Man Sagar Dam on the eastern side of the lake in front of the backdrop of the surrounding Nahargarh (“tiger-abode”) hills.

**Interesting Fact :-**The palace, built in red sandstone, is a five storied building, of which four floors remain underwater when the lake is full and the top floor is exposed.

World Trade park

World trade part is a High tech modern building of Jaipur which is serving as a shopping mall for locals.The construction of World Trade Park Jaipur took Rs. 350 crores and was completed in 2 years . The building has two different blocks; one in North and other in South, separated by city street.

Interesting fact :- Inside the world trade park there various areas which is themed on different cities around the globes such as Dubai Market, London bus shops, Singapore area, Disney logo building, New York theme etc.

Things to be Remember when visiting Jaipur

  1. It is situated near the desert area of India. So Its temperature can goes upto 50 degree Centigrade. So please avoid visiting it During April, May and June. The best time to visit Jaipur is March and October.

  2. If you are buying anything or taking taxi from there please first consult with the local about the rates, otherwise you will be pay into double or triple rates.

  3. Always try to book taxi from android apps to pay actual money

  4. If you are taking local taxi then check google map for shortest distance to avoid extra kilometer of charge.

I love pink colour construction and expecting to be Jordan only to see pink city also but now I don’t have to go there because your country also has it…amazing…but wondering how these stones can be pink. Are they naturally pink?

I always love your story. It s described as I am travelling with you there. One thing, I know it s near desert with high temperature, so the perfect time to go how temperature it is? I m from tropical. I m looking for cooler weather all time.

The temperature of this city ranges from 3°C to 19°C in winter season i.e. from Mid Nov-Mid Feb and 30-50°C in april to june so nest time to visit this place is Feb-March and September and October.

Yes the stone is naturally pink in colour. There are so many colours stones in India.

I would to go there but I can’t pin the time now. I have only 6 day leaves left now Y-Y …I m not sure that s enough or not. With my work, I can take leaves after October.

For your visit here, if you come to Bangkok, many love to join Songkran which will be held on 13 th April everyday and for sure all tourist go to Kao Sarn road to enjoy this water splash war. For me, if you will be here this year you can come on December there will be many things like to celebrate a lot and light decoration for Christmas and you still enjoy at the beach because hot weather here all time and no coincidence in raining that month (I guess from climate change, now I don’t know exactly which month is in rainy season). When you will plan to Thailand, we can plan together. @Sahilmsk2208
