Me in Kachin Costume at MyitSone
A Beautiful scenic confluence of the Mayhka (N’Mai) and Malikha rivers is 45 kilometres to the north of Myitkyina. Approximately 1 hour’s drive north of Myitkyina is the confluence of two Himalayan rivers and it is also known as origin of Ayeyawady river, the lifeline of Myanmar. The confluence of the rivers is also known as the traditional homeland ofthe
legendary orphan brothers Hkrai Gam and Hkrai Naw. According to the legend, Hkrai Naw, the younger brother, is credited as saving the Kachin people when he bravely shot down with his bow and arrow an evil eagle that was stealing babies. He is still honored in celebration today.
However, MyitSone is a famous Tourist attraction and must- visit place in Kachin state. There are many Traditional Kachin Food Restaurants near the river bank. You can enjoy the taste of nature and delicious food together with the river breeze.
But, MyitSone’s existence is currently threatened by the project of MyitSone Dam.
So, I want to suggest the Tourist to Kachin State to visit there.
