The new centre of New Zealand

New Zealand has a new centre. Since 2008, the United Nations has recognised that New Zealand’s territory includes the undersea continental shelf as well as the land mass above the sea.

I have added the new site to Google Maps here and made the first review https://goo.gl/maps/a6C5RJZ56aCNW7zy5

As far as I am aware, New Zealand is part of a sank continent. It went underwater million years ago. It’s interesting to see that some of those borders were taken as part of the territories. Did you notice any GPS changes after the geographical center of the country, @TheEagleEye ?

Thanks for message @FlameFox . There has been no GPS changes due to the change of centre of NZ. It is onlt a surveying centre as a result of the sunken continents being put into consideration.

Thanks for clarifying, @TheEagleEye ! It’s still an interesting fact considering the 95% of sea given to New Zealand. That’s a lot to explore and to present to world for travel and economics. Can’t wait to see what the local authorities will think of. That’s not just the land of hobbits after all!

P.S. Decided to check if any of the joined undersea territories are antipodes of Bulgaria but it was a no joy. We won’t be doing underground tunnel to Wellington but there’s still hope.

Hello @TheEagleEye

I went around New Zealand for 15 days last year. It was a very beautiful and happy place.

The most impressive memory was a helicopter trip.

Oh, that’s right!
Actually, it was next door.

MY course is Glenorchey, Milford Sound and Moonlight, went back to Queenstown.

I saw the ice caps and the Lake.
I experienced winter and summer all day.
It was like Miracle!
