Mawsmai Cave Cherrapunji

Popular as one of the most notable landmarks in Cherrapunji is Mawsmai cave. The striking natural cave is flocked by visitors in great numbers. It is one of the best places for history buffs and experience seekers. The Mawsmai cave in Cherrapunji boasts of a wide and amazing entrance with a dark and magical mystery inside. The limestone constructions of the cave would surely leave you fascinated.

You can see the constant dripping of water from cave roofs and the formation of stalactites and stalagmites inside the cave. Further, with great observations, you can also note how the ceiling and the cave floor are joined together to form the iconic pillars.

BEST TIME TO VISIT MAWSMAI CAVE :arrow_lower_left:

Post monsoons are the best time to visit this cave as the interior of the cave is filled with water and totally remains wet almost all the time during monsoon.

RECOMMENDATION :arrow_lower_left:

We would not recommend this place for kids, pregnant women and old aged people.

VISITING HOURS :hushed:

Timings: 9 AM – 5 PM

ENTRY FEE :arrow_lower_left:

Rs. 20 for Adults.

Rs. 5 for Children.
