Apart from adding pictures and…, there are two most interesting things I’ve done as a local guide. The first was to add a place and the second was to edit a map marker.
I’ve always looked forward to adding a place to Google Maps. I was glad to make an impact when I added Weppa Farm where I worked as an Intern. Adding Weppa Farm, a 13,000 hectare farm located along a minor road in Edo State, Nigeria got me grinning with excitement when it was approved. This I’m sure has helped and would help prospective customers locate their destination with ease.
Also, the first time my friend and I went to NCAM, we got stranded because the map marker was set to the wrong location. Making inquiries from the people in that area made us discover that our destination was more than five kilometers ahead. We eventually located the place and I suggested an edit for the map marker which was approved within 10 minutes.
I’m excited about this because it has helped a lot of other travelers avoid this awful experience.
