The most interesting thing I have done as a Local Guide: visiting and exploring Bhushi Dam, Lonavala

Though visiting and exploring new places are always interesting but going Bhushi Dam located in Lonavala, Maharashtra (India) turned out to be a tragicomedy for me. Since I have never been there I used Google maps to visit the place along with my friend. As we were only two guys we used a bike to visit and enjoy the place (~50 km from the stay). Just after crossing the main city, it started drizzling. Soon, the drizzling turned into heavy rain. We both got drenched in water but continued the driving as I have to return and take flight to New Delhi. The path was almost deserted with no place of hiding. We were feeling very cold but there was no help. Anyway we followed the map, and somehow reached the destination. The rain did not stop. Our purse and mobiles were wet. To protect them, unwillingly we had to purchase plastic pouches worth INR 5 in INR 50. Reaching the destination was though fruitful. The sight was great. Peoples of all age were enjoying the gushing water flowing through the stairs of the dam as well as the rain. We took several shots in different angles with our phone for posting in map. Thanks to my OnePlus phone which survived the splashes and water. This was my only trip wherein we enjoyed a lot while drenched in water.

There was no place to change and we had no extra dress. Due to the flight I had to return early. Hence, we rode the old school bike for the return Journey. Soon we were in the highway, driving and shivering with cold waves. After reaching the friend’s room, I took cab for the airport. The time was crossing very fast. The traffic was also high. The driver showed his best driving skills and helped me in reaching the airport 30 min before the departure. But the check-in process delayed me and I missed my flight. whoa…ah… :grinning:

Indeed I will never forget this incident/moment of visiting this hill station. We still laugh a lot while discussing this incident and sharing the posts with other.
