There is a bakery that you must visit in Daejeon, Korea.
It is Sungsimdang.
It has been running since 1956 and is the most famous in Daejeon.
Many people used to meet there in the 1980s.
The owner served some bread (which was not sold that day) to the poor and the bakery was known to many local people from the episode.
Korean tourists tend to buy “Fried Soboru” that is best-selling as a gift here.
I recommend you to stop by and experience delicious bread when you visit Daejeon.

50 years of tradition!!! That’s amazing @Korea_Park_Pol I just love walking past bakeries. The smell always sucks me in…When I walked across mid-southern France, from one village to the next, each day I would search for the local bakery and had beautiful freshly baked bread for lunch and a cake or two for afternoon tea with a coffee. Your photos of the bread and cakes in Sungsimdang are amazing @Korea_Park_Pol , especially the last one.
It has been open for so many years! They must have perfected the technique, their breads sure look perfect.
Your photos showcase the incredible variety perfectly, @Korea_Park_Pol I don’t think I have ever been in a bakery with so many different kinds of bread.
Have you tried Fried Soboru? I would love to know more about it and why it is so popular.
