Brunngasse street in Brienz, Switzerland, was declared the “most beautiful street in Europe” in 1975.
Brunngasse street
It is known for its 18th-century wooden chalets with intricate carvings, cobblestones, and lovely views of Lake Brienz and the Alps, making it a quintessential Swiss fairytale lane.
The street is lined with beautifully preserved wooden houses from the 18th century.
Many buildings feature detailed, traditional Swiss woodworking.
The street offers stunning views of Lake Brienz and the Bernese Alps. Cobblestone streets and flower boxes add to its idyllic feel.
We were here to visit the famous steam railway of Brienz and to buy the famous Cuckoo clock. The Swiss famous Cuckoo clocks are actually made here
Next time you are in this beautiful town of Brienz do stop over and take a stroll along this beautiful street
