I was invited to write an article about the Local Guides program in a very well known bimonthly trade magazine called “Bohio”, established in 1966 in my country. The piece was featured in the Tech section with (drumroll please) not one, or two, but FOUR PAGES! (I’m still shocked about it!)
It really feels great to see the results of my efforts to help the mission of getting more and more people to know about the Local Guides program! What do you think about it!?
It is very nice to see that your efforts to promote the positivity of being a Local Guide have been recognized. This is the real spirit that we love: to help one another, to support our communities and to make an impact.
Nice one @Marichams ! And I can fully understand what you mean with the result being much more than you expected. When I was interviewed for the newspapers in Belgium, I was expecting a small 2 colums article, but in both cases it was almost a full page (and withe one of them also a teaser on the front page).
One of the nicest results from the media attention for me was that total strangers then started reaching out to me on social media to ask if I could add their street to Maps (which I was able to do in several cases - so that was super awesome).
I can totally imagine how uplifting this whole experience might be like for you. Having your work published is almost dreamlike and you saw it coming alive. The question is did you see it coming?
Wish you many more great accomplishments. Congratulations!
