The Journey Begins 2026 — Gujarat to Delhi 🇮🇳 part 1

The Journey Begins — Gujarat to Delhi :india:

Some journeys are not simply about travelling from one city to another.

Some journeys are about the people you meet, the conversations you share, and the memories you create along the way.

For me, the journey to Namaste India Local Guides Summit 2026 was exactly that.

This time, Delhi was not just the destination.

The real destination was to meet Local Guides from different parts of India, learn something new, and experience in person a community that I had mostly known through online interactions.

:backpack: The Excitement Before the Summit

The excitement started even before reaching Delhi.

Travelling together with @NareshDarji, @Jaykumarb, @Henil, @prashant_kyada and @AnshukMitra @Np45-Nirav made the journey more memorable.

Some of us already knew each other through the Local Guides community, while others were finally meeting in person.

And that is one of the beautiful things about this community — the journey itself can become part of the experience.

:camera_with_flash: **PHOTO 2 —

The conversations, jokes, experiences and random discussions along the way made the journey feel much shorter.

Different cities.

Different experiences.

Different contribution styles.

But one common connection — Google Maps and the Local Guides community.

:handshake: From Online Connections to Real People

One of the things I was most excited about was meeting people I had known through Local Guides Connect.

Online profiles have names, posts and contributions.

But meeting someone in person gives that connection a completely different meaning.

A username becomes a face.

A comment becomes a conversation.

And an online connection can become a real friendship.

That feeling was already starting during the journey itself.

:india: Finally… NIS 2026

And then came the moment when the Summit finally felt real.

After all the planning, preparation and anticipation, I was finally surrounded by the Namaste India Summit 2026 identity.

:camera_with_flash: **PHOTO 4 —

At that moment, I knew this was going to be more than just another event.

I was about to meet Local Guides from different parts of India, listen to their stories, learn from their experiences and create memories together.

:world_map: The Journey Was About More Than Reaching Delhi

For me, this journey was not simply:

Gujarat → Delhi

It was:

Online → Offline
Profiles → People
Contributions → Community

And having people like @NareshDarji, @Jaykumarb, @Henil, @prashant_kyada and @AnshukMitra as part of the journey made that transition even more special.

:camera_with_flash: **PHOTO 5 —

The destination brought us to Delhi.

But the people were going to make the experience memorable.

 And This Was Only the Beginning…

Looking back, reaching Delhi was just one chapter.

The real story was about to unfold —

the people I would meet,

the conversations I would have,

the sessions I would experience,

the knowledge I would gain,

and the memories we would create together.

The journey had brought us to Delhi.

But NIS 2026 had only just begun. :india::heart:

:round_pushpin: To Be Continued…

POST 2 — From Profiles to People :handshake:

The next chapter is about the people who turned an online Local Guides community into a real-life experience.

Because sometimes, the best part of a journey isn’t the destination — it’s the people you meet along the way.

Your opening beautifully captures what the Namaste India Summit was all about — the journey from online connections to real-life friendships.

I especially loved the way you described the transformation: “Profiles → People, Contributions → Community.” That truly reflects the spirit of NIS 2026. :india:

Travelling together with fellow Local Guides must have made the journey from Gujarat to Delhi even more memorable. And as you rightly said, sometimes the journey itself becomes an important part of the destination.

Looking forward to Post 2 — From Profiles to People and hearing more about the wonderful connections and memories you created at the Summit. :handshake::sparkles:

The journey has begun… and I’m sure the best chapters are yet to come!:india:
