I have been to San Francisco three times and really enjoyed the many touristic attractions I visited there.
Among the many beautiful places in the city, the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the Cheesecake Factory, Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf,… my favorite one is “The Japanese Tea Garden”.
This garden contains many examples of famous traditional Japanese architecture. There, we can find a Gojunoto (a traditional pagoda with a five stories tower), koi fishes swimming in ponds, and a statue of Buddha, which is made of bronze.
My favorite structure is the Moon Bridge, also called the Drum Bridge because it is a name expressing a round shape. Climbing on the bridge requires a good sense of balance.
The Garden looks very Japanese. However, the main difference with gardens in Japan is that there are many squirrels in this park. Of course, there are many wild squirrels in Japan, but they usually don’t show up in man made environments, they live in nature, like forests. Their cuteness makes this garden even cozier.
Thank you for sharing your opinion about this amazing place and your beautiful photos. I’ve visited the Tea Garden last November and really enjoyed being there. What a nice and silent place in the middle of the big city!
Thanks for sharing your photos. I haven’t been to a Japanese garden before so I am sure it would be interesting for me to see something like that. Do you have more photos from the place? Are there any other animals that run in the park?
@Coco1228 amazing. I love Japanese gardens. it’s been my dream to build small one in my backyard. I love the Moon bridge pic. Was it allowed to go over it?
@Coco1228 I visited this park about a year ago and reading your post brought back good memories from the trip, specially climbing that bridge thanks for sharing!
Hello, @MoniDi thank you for your interesting comment. I really recommend this place if you have never been there and you like a silent and clean place.
