This is the story of my favorite food: The Pizza!!!
Some anonymous stated "if you may divide it in 4 parts and makes you happy*, it’s surely a Pizza!!!* For me this statement is definitely true.
No worries ? I will not tell about the History of Pizza but no doubts that this “rounded and colored plate” is one of the most international dish that we may have around the world (curiosity: Google displays more than 290.000.000 results searching the word “Pizzeria”).
As many of you, I like to go out often for dinner but I will share with you a funny tradition agreed with my friends: I am the one searching for the best place on Google Maps!
Actually this culinary marathon for searching the best Pizzeria will not be an easy task. In the city where I live, Parma (Italy), there are so many Pizzerias. My final option could be booking a place at La Duchessa, one of the modern restaurants located in old town and where it becomes pleasant to have a Pizza sitting on the terrace with a beautiful view on the historical buildings and monuments of the central square Piazza Garibaldi;or we could decide to enjoy a Pizza in the famous Pizzeria Il Corsaro where at the entrance a real boat set in the wall will surely surprise you. Whether should we decide to have a Pizza comfortably at home my favorite take-away “Pizzeria da Tonino” will never disappoint our expectations.
I would like to recommend a visit in Parma (called the Capital of Food Valley) and I would be delighted to be your guide around the nice streets of the old town where we could find one of my preferred places having THE BEST PIZZA IN PARMA .
Some of you would like to ask me "what does make a good Pizza to get a positive review and high rating on Google Maps"?
Actually, the answer may be very personal but to me a good Pizza to deserve a good rating must respect a certain number of criteria:
-
a very good quality mozzarella and organic tomato sauce
-
garlic, onion and green herbs to work with the tomato.
-
cooking in a wood-fared oven
If all the above ingredients are conglomerated all together from experts Pizzaioli (Pizza makers) I am sure to have the best symphony of flavours and colours on my table. Then it will be important the location and ambience of the Pizzeria, the service offered inside and finally the good presentation of the Pizza on the plate.
As you can see from some of the photos, my preference goes mostly for the big Pizza (around half meter), with different flavourings and easy to be shared with friends.I personally love the one with a thinner crust (it makes it a bit more crispness) and like to add buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil or in alternative ask for a “Pizza Parmigiana” with parmesan cheese flakes and thin slices of Parma ham.
The unique smell of a Pizza and its crunchy taste give each time a different sensory experience.
But I would like to add that most of my pleasure has much to do when I can eat this delicious food in good company and enjoy the moment of tranquillity.
The love for Pizza will never become an old-fashioned habit of my life!
