Getting the routes in Lagos seems as the biggest hassle for the major city. My experience with different alternative routes led to me helping people to locate landmarks using the google maps local guide. Although, I just discovered the dynamism of the local guides reach to a lot of Nigerians and peculiarities of the network providers (this affects the update time for alternative routes, especially when there is traffic!), adding pictures to help people visualise the landmarks has been getting views too.
The most important part of been a local guide is helping people get through the hassle of being duped by the transport systems because they would not have an idea of the fare or the duration of the journey and also upon arrival to get value for their money using your pictures to know if the place is actually what the owners put on their website. This is to help people make decisions based on your experiences anywhere you go! This makes me a proud Nigerian Google local guide!
