Hello, Local Guides,

I am from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal and I love to try different places for casual coffee and foods. Hey! but I am not calling myself a foodie. So, I have been to many restaurants and coffee house in the name of drinking coffee but this one, The Himalayan Java, inside of peaceful Boudhanath Stupa compound wins it all.

To be clear, The Himalayan Java, is the choice of many people as you can find the

same customer again and again when you visit there. The environment is welcoming itself and the food and drink served are the best. Here you can find the variety of freshly brewed organic coffee, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and everything you want.

I have been here multiple times but these are the items I can eat again and again here.

  • Cold and Iced Coffees

Himalayan Java, Boudha has a separate place for smokers which is actually cool for non smokers and kids. But, if you are a smoker you have to manage your cigeratte yourself because they do not sell the item.

This is also favourite for foreigners visiting the capital as you can see many of them enjoying coffee with stories. I hope you will not miss this place when you are here.

Here are Loads of fun things to do if you are in Kathmandu. I think just the word fun would not describe all the experience one will get here.

The city has suddenly changed a lot in a different way, mostly positive. Many things that we used to see on newspapers and internet are now heavily adopted and it is almost a mixed culture now. Thanks to the open minded people and risk taking entrepreneurs.

The only thing that you will find nowhere in this world and only here are the many cultures, unique celebration, hiking in different terrain, ancient architecture which are the solid standing proof of our proud history, temples and sculptures which are being worshipped since so long that no-one knows, museums and most of all the welcoming people that you will always miss.
