The Highest Restaurant in Australia

I had drinks at the highest restaurant in Australia and the only way you can get up there is to put your ski boots on and jump on the ski lift.

The Eagles Nest Restaurant is perched 1937 meters high above Thredbo Village and the only way down is either back on the ski lift or a long and fun ride down the mountain on your skis or snowboard.

The Eagles Nest is a perfect spot to warm up and have a nice meal and/or a drink before heading back onto the snow fields. They are open from early morning until the afternoon and even serve breakfast.

My favourite thing to order is the Peach Schnapps so I can warm up my insides before heading out to the cold snowy weather.

Thredbo.com.au even have live cameras during the ski season so you can view the slopes. One of these live cams is on top of the Eagles Nest Restaurant.

@PennyChristie Oh that is awesome! Do you have to have skis on? I think I’d fall as soon as I got off the lift!!! hahahahaha

HAHA @Denise_Barlock I asked the same question because I just wanted to go up, have a drink and come back down using the lift. Which is what I did but I needed to wear my skis. My family skied down the mountain but I was too tired.

Saludos fueguinos, Farid.

Hi @PennyChristie ,

wow, this place looks amazing. I would not associate the snow to Australia to be honest, looks like something more like Austria instead  , but nice to see it. The view is fantastic and your photos are so nice.

Thank you for sharing!
