The Hidden Paradise of the Black Sea: Nature and Peace in Giresun
After completing our journey in Trabzon, we turned our route toward one of the deep beauties of the Black Sea:Giresun. On the way, our first stop was the peaceful district of Dereli, hidden in the heart of nature.
Dereli welcomed us with its lush valleys and winding roads. We took a short break to enjoy the scenery. Even the few photos we took there were signs that this trip would be something truly special.
Kuzalan Waterfall – The Whisper of Nature
Our return from the city to nature began with Kuzalan Waterfall, located in the Dereli district. Tucked into dense greenery, the gently flowing water seemed to whisper peace and calm.
The view was so serene that just watching it was enough to soothe our souls. This waterfall is a must-see for anyone seeking a break from the city and a reconnection with nature.
Mavi Göl – Beautiful in Every Way
After Kuzalan, we headed to Mavi Göl (Blue Lake). This place is often known for its turquoise waters, but during our visit, the streams were strong and the weather was humid. So instead of the famous blue tone, we encountered a more vivid, flowing version of the lake.
The area was peaceful and perfect for a walk. According to locals, during dry summer months, the water turns a brilliant blue and truly lives up to its name.
Göksu Travertines – Where White Meets Blue
Our final stop was the stunning Göksu Travertines. With its bright white ground and crystal-clear blue water, it’s truly a natural wonder. We took off our shoes and socks and slowly walked through the water.
At first, the water felt cold, but we quickly adjusted. The clarity, the colors, and the peaceful setting made this place unforgettable. Time seemed to slow down, and we felt completely immersed in nature.
Giresun Castle – A View from the Top
After leaving Dereli, we reached the center of Giresun, and our first stop there was Giresun Castle. Built on the highest point of the city, the castle offers a panoramic view of Giresun that is simply breathtaking.
Although some parts of the structure have worn down over time, many sections are still intact and impressive. The gentle breeze and expansive view made our visit both peaceful and memorable. It’s a perfect spot for photos and videos.
Giresun Museum – A Quiet Journey Through Time
Next, we visited the Giresun Museum, located very close to the city center. Originally built as a church, the structure immediately catches your eye with its historical architecture.
The museum is small, with only one floor, but it is rich in content. We saw many archaeological and ethnographic artifacts from different periods. What impressed us most were the ceiling decorations — the colors and patterns were so striking that we couldn’t look away.
Farewell – A Journey That Healed My Soul
This nature-filled trip in Giresun didn’t just refresh our bodies — it also soothed our spirits. Each stop offered a new color, a new texture, a new kind of peace.
With its natural beauty, tranquil atmosphere, and sincere charm, Giresun has become an unforgettable destination for me. I wholeheartedly recommend this route to everyone.
