What is Halal? New Yorkers may know the word from the middle east food franchise there. Halal is taken from an Arabic word which means food that is permitted to eat as prescribed in Al-Quran for Muslim. We don’t eat anything derive from pig and we don’t consume alcohol.In addition, the meat eg chicken and cow needs to be slaughtered by Islamic way and done by a Muslim.
This will be an issue when we travel to a non-Islamic country where the halal food option is scarce. Don’t worry we can still survive by eating fish based food, vegetables and fruits if there is no other halal meat option

When we plan our travel itinerary it is a must to search for halal places to eat too. Sometimes we also pack halal instant food in our luggage as a backup.
