THE GREAT HIMALAYAN NATIONAL PARK
The Great Himalyan National Park -[GHNP]conservation area located in kullu in region in the state of himachal pradesh the park was establishad in 1984 and is spread over an area of 1171km.
In june 2014,the great himalayan national park was added to the UNESCO list of world heritage site .This is one of the largest and scenic national park in india . Biodiversity- The park is habitat to a huge range of plants, animals and birds. Great himalayan National park boasts of 375 fauna species which comprises of mammals, reptiles, molluscs, insects and birds. These animals are safeguarded under wildlife protection Act of 1972. Gaming and hunting of animals are strictly prohibited and considered as punishable offence. Featuring primarily Deodar and oak trees and more then 100 plant species,including medicinal herbs the list is lond and varied. Even in lower altitudes,there are some alpine meadow.Click for vedio- https://youtu.be/eprFr2YyPdY The Rich Fauna-The park animals include some wild speciecs like brown bear, musk deer, thar, goral,snow leopard, bharal, monal, koklas .Tragopan and thar and blue sheep and more then 181 species of birds are seen here. The best sighting is experienced from september to november when animals migrate to lower ground.Red panda is considered to be the rarest animal found in the Himalyas. The total numbers of panda even less then 10000. the rare Himalayan animal, red panda can easily be identified by its reddish-brown fur and long shaggy tail.

The sainj river passes through the great Himalayan national park. It flows to the southwest to join river beas, at the small place of larji. Activities in GHNP- Great himalayan park very cool and attractive and wounderful to visit. There are 4 moderate to difficult trekking routes in this park. They are Shakti, maror ,Delha Top, Raktisar (Hanspuri lake) ralla & naina .sainj to 6 meadows, bird watching and trout fishing spot and you can also go camping in the forests here.
