The biggest event of Ukrainian local guides will happen in Ukraine in two weeks - October 26-27. It will be the first Ukrainian summit of female local guides. This event is organised by Ukrainian Google office. And they chose wonderful Ukrainian city of Chernigiv for this awesome event.
So, what’s special about this event - the first Ukrainian summit of female local guides? It’s an awesome opportunity to gather in one place and introduce each other. Thanks to Local Guides Connect I know about some Ukrainian women local guides. But many local guides aren’t active on Connect but they’re very active on Google Maps. We want to come together in Chernihiv and work together for developing Google Maps in Ukraine, LG programs in Ukraine. We want to share more and more information about our country on Connect and on Maps. And, of course, we should be friends because we’re one big Local Guides family.
I’m in LG program since 2016. For a long time I didn’t know about other girls - Ukrainian local guides. But at the same time I found awesome LG male friends. Ukrainian men were MapMakers and later they became Local Guides. And it was a completely different situation with women. Can you imagine? From long time I knew only one Ukrainian local guide who happen to have same name as I do - Nataliya @Sarazhynska. Of course, I speak about active Ukrainian local guides that I could find, for example, on Connect or thanks to Ukrainian LG men. This year situation has changed and it’s cool. I see new local guides on Connect, I meet in real life amazing Ukrainian women local guides. It’s time to be closer ?
Our first Ukrainian summit of female local guides will last for two days. It will be very fertile days I’m sure. We’ll have amazing speakers Oleg Kostiukevich @OlegKostyukevich, Yevgenii Kartsan @YevhenK, Denys Manzhos @DenysManzhos, Mykola Omelchenko and others. They’ll tell about Ukrainian team, about popularisation of touristic objects by Google instruments, about visualisation on Google Maps - how to make your photo contributions better. And I’m proud to be one of the speakers with the story about my experience in Local guides program. I was attendee at Local Guide Summit in 2017 and Connect Live 2018. It was super awesome!!!
And, of course, we’ll have some practice exercises. We’ll walk in Chernihiv and old village Sedniv. We’ll add new places, check information about different objects, check their accessibility, add 360 pictures. It’ll be an awesome event and fun time, I’m sure. Ukrainians female local guides can fill this form for participation in summit. Our spot is 40 places. We’re waiting for you!
