Frescoes, Laxmi Temple’s corridor, Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, India.
When Maharaja Prithvi Singh renovated the Lakshmi Temple in 1793 AD, he also got colorful frescoes painted on the corridors and ceilings. The artists were completely adept in miniature painting and wall painting and the inclusion of colors was such that even today, even after two hundred years, these paintings appear alive.
This entire painting work is based on the subjects of mythological stories, Krishna Ras Leela, battlefield scenes etc.
These exquisite frescoes are unique and Laxmi temple of Orchha offers this opportunity to witness this artwork. As Laxmi Temple is without presiding deity means Goddess Laxmi which was stolen in 1983 AD.
Devotees have full faith and they offer the worship of the throne.
