#monthlytopic of June 2020 - A good place for a sunny day
Hello Local Guides! It’s summer already, but some of us still can’t travel because of this pandemic situation. Are you dreaming of the perfect getaway in summer?
Personally, I love going to the beach on a sunny day. I’m feeling blessed living in a country that has so many beautiful beaches. So in this post, let me introduce you to Pink Beach, my favorite beach in Indonesia. This quiet small beach is a perfect place to relax and unwind!
Where is Pink Beach located?
Pink Beach is located within the Komodo National Park, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It is one of seven pink beaches that exists in the world, and one of the many amazing features of Komodo Island that make it full of magical wonder. I was blown away by just how pink the Pink Beach was!
How come Pink Beach got so pink?
The pink color of the sand comes from microscopic red organisms in coral named Foraminifera. As they grow and die, their crushed shells get pushed onto the beach by the continuous tide and mixed with the white sand, resulting in the soft pink colored sand.
How to get there
The Pink Beach is situated in an uninhabited island, so it can only be accessed by boat from the nearest town of Labuan Bajo. It is usually visited as part of an island hopping day trip, multi-day trip or liveaboard. Take a local flight from Jakarta or Bali to Labuan Bajo. Then, you can book a tour package that suits your budget, timing, and interests.
So, what is your favorite place to go in the summer time? Do you like going to the beach? I would love to hear your comments.
Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

Wiii…, pantai merah jambuuu…
Menarik sekali, Kak @Lusianaa

Foto gaya lompat diambil berkali-kali mbak @Nyainurjanah seingat saya sekitar 5 kali
Ayo dicoba seru loh!

Thank you @AngieYC
Actually, there are two Pink beaches within the area. According to the information I got from our tour guide, one is very popular on the organised island hopping tours, and another one is the “secret” Pink Beach that we visited. As you can see from my photos, it was completely free from tourists and trash.
I think the best time to visit is during summer months (between May and August). Have you been to Labuan Bajo?
