I’m sure we all knows about this quote “Sharing is Caring”, I really appreciate to people who want to share about her experience. As an Indonesian I am so happy when a lot of foreigner come to my country. Like I want to share to the world that this country is full of peace, beautiful nature with a lot of mountain, beach and amazing travel destination.
But sometimes my people, a lot of Indonesian cant speak english very well, its make bad impression, and I can’t imagine if they come to my country and dont know how to talk, dont know where to go. I know that maybe I can’t help everyone, I can’t company them anytime or anywhere. One of my main reason I use Local Guides is to helping people like them. I often comment and review in english to let people who can’t speak Indonesian understand and knows before they go to anywhere.
Few years ago, I created website called Jakarta Free Guide, but I took it down after maybe 6 months development even before its officially launch. I’m afraid if a lot of people will contact through my website and I can’t help them because I don’t have any volunter with me. Then I connect to the owner of Jakarta Walking Tour, but since then we never meet, because we’re busy each other, and the owner not in Indonesia back then.
I found that google launch local guides, at first I am not really impress, but by the time, I feel like this feature will be useful, just like what I’ve planned before. I had an experience when I need to repair my car because of an accident, that review from people really helpful to find the best. So I addicted to make a review, rating, photos if any to help people.
My biggest dream is to helping people through anything. I love traveling, I want to make people feel friendly and safe in everywhere through local guides and good review. I can feels like I am “hero” for everyone when Iam doing review, I am happy when I facing something terrible, I can make some guides so other people aware and not experience something bad like me.
So I encourage people, whoever you are and wherever you are. Use your hand and your experience to giving a review. I know that sometimes you have no capabilities to help everyone, but through your hand, through Local Guides, you will help a lot of people to explore and find a better world.
