@Petra_M definitely go to the Dubai museum. Because it’s located very near and walking distance to the old Dubai, Dubai Souk markets, the Dubai Creek and others, and well connected via the Dubai metro. And the entrance is only under USD 1. The outside looks very simple, but the exhibits inside is well worth the time. 
Also, if you are planning to get to Dubai, go at the end of the year when Dubai Expo 2020 starts. That would be the most amazing time. Also that in Nov/Dec/Jan is the best weather for Dubai visit as it’s cooler.
