One of the best places and must-visit when coming to Dubai is the incredible Dubai Museum. Location (https://goo.gl/maps/9k1TZFPc7SzNjMKq9). From the outside, it looks like a very unassuming and humble place, yet, it’s probably one of the most amazing places to visit, to learn about Dubai’s history and culture, and all for an entrance fee of AED 3, that’s just under USD 1. To get to Dubai Museum, take the Dubai metro and stop at Al Ghubaiba or Al Fahidi station with a few minutes walk, or come through the Dubai Creek Abra boat service. It will be an experience one will not forget.
[Photo above] Personally I would recommend one come in the evening, so there is still enough of light to visit the outer courtyard and exhibits, and after going through the museum (there is much to see, read and learn), to exit and have the opportunity to take wonderful photos of the museum exterior towards dusk and night time. Note that the Dubai Museum closes at 8.30pm. Towards dusk after 7pm, the sky turns amazingly dark blue with the bright exhibits provide an incredible chance for beautiful photos.
[Photo above] The museum exterior looks like an old fort, and with the Grand Dubai mosque nearby, it is an incredible sight. Even more so with the Azan called in the background. On the outer courtyard, there are minor exhibits of old boats amongst other artifacts. Then we head down towards the museum interior, which without going inside, is one of the hidden treasures of Dubai.
[Photo above] The section that caught most of my attention are the historical exhibits showing how Dubai was transformed from the lowly fishing port to today’s infrastructure powerhouse, with many of the most inspiring constructions on the planet. I personally felt emotional after reading and exploring how the vision of modern Dubai came into being, and wished many other countries could follow suit.
[Photo above] There are just so many beautifully crafted exhibits in the interior section of Dubai Museum. Many showcasing traditional way of life of the people in old Dubai. Planting and cultivating along the Creek, fishing, trading and so much more. One could spend at least a few hours here.

The Dubai Museum is certainly a must-visit when coming to Dubai.
