The Dreamy Sunset in Cijin Beach

Only a few minutes ferry ride away from Kaoshiung harbor, Cijin Island is a must-see place for everyone visiting Kaohsiung City, especially the dreamy Cijin beach under the sunset.

Last December, I had a trip with friends to Kaohsiung and stayed there for a couple of days. One thing I feel lucky about is that we went to Cijin Island on the right day. Most days we had in Kaohsiung were either cloudy or super windy. Yet, the day we visited the island was a big sunny day, so that we got to enjoy the beautiful sunset. How fortunate we were!

Do you like going to the beach? Where’s the closest beach to your city?

Hi @ChanneLing ,

What a beautiful sunset you shared with us! Cijin Beach seems to be the perfect place to enjoy a wonderful summer holiday.

I’m planning to visit my family in Sicily in July, I can’t wait to relax on the seaside too. Hopefully I’ll share some beautiful sunset with you too. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @ChanneLing ,

those photos are just amazing, the beach and its sunset is just spectacular. It is even more with the fact that I see not much people allowing you to enjoy it even more.

Yes I do like going to the beach and the closest one here is the seaside of Viareggio, very long beach side with beautiful beaches, however the sea isn’t one the best we have in Italy with so many km of beautiful and amazing beaches.

Thanks a lot for sharing!

Hi @Giu_DiB ,

Haha yes, I believe the beach will be even more paradise-like in summer! Best season to play with water.

Awww Sicily! I heard from many friends that it’s a beautiful island and a must-add destination on everyone’s bucket list. Whenever I heard Sicily, it reminds me of an Italian film called Malèna.

Hope you have a great family time there! And yes, please do share your journey with us! :hugs:

Hi @LuigiZ ,

Exact! The time I went was a workday so fortunately, not many visitors. Ohh, and it’s wintertime so actually, it’s pretty cold, I guess that could be another reason. Pretty convinced the beach would be super packed in summer.

Thanks for sharing this spot with us! The pictures on Google Maps look nice!! :sunglasses: There’re not many beaches in the city I live in, and the closest one takes more than a 2-hour train to arrive so I’m not too picky to beaches lol.

Hi @indahnuria ,

Thanks for your comment. Sunset is so soul-comforting to look at.

Me too, I really want to make another visit to the beach as it’s summertime now. Hopefully, we can both make our visit soon!

Hi @ChanneLing ,

Thanks for your answer! I know that movie, of course. Is a beautiful picture by Giuseppe Tornatore, a Sicilian film director who have narrated our island in many ways. Have you watched “Baarìa”? The set is in his hometown, Bagheria.

Hi @ChanneLing ,

ooh winter ?!? Wow, those photos were looking like a beautiful summer sunset  . Then most probably that’s the reason of the less amount of people, is it normally crowdy in summer? And are there sun umbrellas too to host the visitors?

Yes here we have a very long coast, actually in Italy we have it everywhere with lot of beautiful and high valuated spotted places, so wherever you are (unless of course on high mountains) you have always a beach at a reasonable car distance  .

Thank you once more!

Hi @LuigiZ ,

Haha, yes! It’d more crowded in summer, especially on a good sunny day. But it has not to be too hot, or the sand will burn our feet lol. There are no public sun umbrellas set up so most people will bring them on their own.

That’s amazing! Though Taiwan is an island, we don’t really have many beach spots, only a few in the very north and the very south.
