The Cool Springs Station is the real location of the Radiator Springs featured in the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Cars’.
I would never know this but the tour guide on my Oatman, Seligman, Kingman trip was very knowledgeable about the area’s history and the gas station’s history.
This is a great little stop on Route 66, an awesome place to see and buy some amazing rocks and crystals.
If you want some souvenirs, they have everything you could want.
I saw some jars full of locally found wild honey called ‘Settlers Jerky Wild Oat Honey’.
There are some awesome mugs, jewelry, t-shirts, and of course sticks & magnets, T-shirts, hats, and yes - their limited-edition cold beverages!
This shop is located in the middle of nowhere on a narrow windy road up over Seagreaves Pass from Oatman.
This is the original stretch of the ‘Historic Route 66’ with the letters written in large size on the tarmac.
This place has everything there including the cool Route 66 vibes.
If you step behind the shop using the stone stairs, there is a beautiful open view of the mountain peak with a cool breeze of air even in mid-summer.
There are plenty of photo opportunities inside the shop, outside, and also in the middle of Route 66,
The shop had a huge collection of souvenirs and gifts ranging from keychains, mugs, T-shirts, jackets, caps, and especially gemstones and shiny minerals.
The prices are almost double for the same items that you can easily get in Oatman or Kingman at half price.
But most people tend to lose sight of this while appreciating the furry cat at the counter who is less than willing to pose for a photo courtesy.
The shop is accessible for the differently abled.
The parking, trash area, and also the washroom or restroom are accessible.
Coincidentally I visited here in June 2023, time for this once-in-a-century tree to spring up and open up all its branches and leaves.
What a rare delight!
The place is a great historical stop for all of the Route 66 fans out there!
I found it to be a great little stop to let the stomach settle down after the windy the windy section of Route 66 between Oatman and Kingman.
