It’s the festival of colour; the Holi festival. The Holi festival falls in the full moon day of the Nepali month Falgun and spreads love and intimacy between the people.
Holi is the celebration of victory of truth over false, good over devil and knowledge over science.
Naming and origination of the festival is related to one ancient event. The ancient character Holika was the daughter of King Hrinyakashyap and both were devil character. Prahlad, the son of Hrinyakshyap, was a good character. Holika had a boon that her body was unburned from fire. She used her boon to kill Prahlad. She took Prahlad inside fire. Instead Holika was burned and Prahlad came out safe from the fire. Eventually good got victory over devil.
In this celebration seven different colours as a plant product are painted over the body. The colours from plant are also good medicine for skin diseases as well.
So let’s celebrate the Holi with us. Let’s make the life colourful. Happy Holi!

In Argentina it’s very common to “copy” this celebration so we have many color events like these, such as “We Color” Festival, with bands and famous singers. I guess we really like the idea of celebrating color
