If you are going to be in Lisbon, Portugal this summer, I have some exciting news to share! From June 11, 2026 to July 19, 2026, the iconic Terreiro do Paço is transforming into the City’s Official FIFA World Cup 2026 fan zone, the Lisboa Football Arena.
Whether you are a die-hard football fan or just looking to soak up the incredible atmosphere that Lisbon offers during major tournaments, this is the place to be. Here is everything you need to know to plan your visit:
Event Highlights
- Location: Terreiro do Paço (Praça do Comércio)
- Dates: June 11 – July 19, 2026
- Experience: A massive giant screen brings the stadium atmosphere to the waterfront.
- Entry: Completely free!
- Schedule: Matches are broadcast daily. Note that the venue opens 1 hour before kickoff and closes 1 hour after the final whistle. On Portugal
match days, the doors open 2 hours before kickoff.

Important Security & Entry Rules
To ensure a safe environment for everyone, please note the following restrictions at the entrance:
- Prohibited Items: It is strictly forbidden to bring glass items, cans, weapons, tools, fireworks, aerosol sprays, megaphones, or sports balls (footballs/basketballs).
- General Rule: Avoid bringing any objects that could cause injury or facilitate acts of violence.
- Privacy Notice: Please be aware that this location is subject to video and sound recording for promotional purposes.
How to get there
Arriving by Metro ![]()
- Station: Use the Estação de Metro Terreiro do Paço.
- Line: This station is served by the Blue Line (Linha Azul).
- Convenience: Once you exit the station, you will be directly at the edge of the square, placing you immediately within the heart of the event area.
- Walking: If you are staying in the Baixa, Alfama, or Chiado neighborhoods, the square is easily accessible on foot.
