The cathedral of Strasbourg, the highest building of humanity until 1874 with 142m

The cathedral of Strasbourg, the highest building of humanity until 1874 with 142m. More than 1000 years old and thus one of the major cathedrals in France. It took about 300 years to complete this cathedral with only one tower. The interiors are superbe too.

Nice building, getting old fast.

What happened in 1874 @Hinsberger ?

The Eiffel Tower? It came up in 1889, I guess.

Thanks … in 1874, the St Nicholas Church became the highest building with 147m … now a ruin after wwII. But a lot of other buildings followed up to Buri Khalifa Sky scraper today with 828m … but for how long??

Just to complete with some interiors of this wonderful cathedral

Hello @Hinsberger , very nice photos. It is truly a wonderful leaf. I even felt a headache while looking at it. It has such a high and beautiful magnificence. :ok_hand:t2:

Thank you @Rednewt74 my friend for the tag. I was just thinking the same how Dunclair and @Hinsberger could be kindred spirits. :revolving_hearts:

@Hinsberger : I really enjoyed reading and seeing photos of this cathedral. The first aerial shot from the top looking down was stunning, conveying just how tall the building is. The third photo of the dramatic dark clouds along with the city- wow- a beautiful backdrop for the colors of the city. :sparkling_heart: You are truly an amazing photographer.
