The carnival in Xanthi, Greece, gathers about 200,000 people. The carnival includes parade, dances, folklore, music, performances on colorful platforms and great mood.
This celebration took place on March 1st, despite the ban by local authorities over the COVID-19 epidemic, but did not prevent people from going and having fun.

Hi @mockata2 ,
Based on the photo it posted, it seems that the carnival was very colorful. What was your favorite activity?
Also, I bet the food was great too. Other than the traditional Greek cuisine, did they have any interesting options?
Thanks for sharing.

Hi @gabrielcaballero , Thank you! The situation around Covid-19 is very serious in Greece. The holiday was going good well before stricter measures were taken.
I guess what I shot at the carnival in Xanthi depicts the Greek God Zeus. Unfortunately, I’m not very familiar with Greek mythology, but we can ask @VasT . If she has the opportunity to respond I will be very grateful.
Best Regards!

Hi @Ekattotii , the carnival is really a lot of fun and it is a real marathon parade of young people hidden behind comical and scary masks. There is a lot of dancing and music, and the colorful platforms depict a variety of deities and fun sculptors. Along the whole route from where the carnival takes place, local merchants offer their culinary temptations and drinks, which, unfortunately, I did not have time to try.
Best regards!

It was really fun at the @MatheusRequiao Carnival. The only drawback is the large crowd of people and it is difficult to move around.
Best regards!
