Peru is one of the most famous gastronomic destinities around the World. There are a list of well known restaurants: Central, Astrid & Gaston, Maido, La Rosa Náutica…However, there are some places less populars-and cheaper than the above mentioned. Obviously, this list includes only my own point of view:
-
Mi Perú 1972. Located in Lima Avenue, near to Butters Place, district of Barranco, it is famous by its sea cuisine. The tortilla de hueveras (fish roe omelette) and the concentrado de cangrejo (krap sous) are delicious.
-
El palacio del sancochado. Located in the 28 de julio Street, Lima Metropolitan, is the best restaurant for the traditional soup called “Sancochado” that contains beef, cabbage, sweet potato, carrot and turnip. We have to go early before noon that ends quickly.
-
La casa de la chanfainita. Located at Canevaro 535, district of Lince, offers the best chanfainita (beef lung stew with mint, special chili pepper, square potatoes and corn). You should go early because the food will fit very quickly due to the huge clientele.
-
Bravazo. Located at the corner of Wilson Avenue and Bolivia Streer, it has on the menu what I consider the best tallarín saltado (sauté chicken noodles) that I have ever eaten.
-
Caníbal. Located in San Felipe Avenue, district of Comas, has the richest pizzas that I have ever tasted. The place is simple, but the owner, waiter and cook is very friendly and attentive.
