Hello welcome @SokunDana to the Google Local Guides community.
Here are a few suggestions to help you get off to a great start.
• Read posts by Googlers: Take some time to explore posts shared by Googlers on Connect. They provide valuable insights into the platform, community guidelines, and the many ways you can make meaningful contributions.
• Post in the right category: Whether your post is about travel, food, photography, or Google Maps contributions, choosing the appropriate category helps more Local Guides discover your content and engage with your experiences.
• INTRODUCE YOURSELF: Don’t forget to visit the Introduce Yourself section. Share a little about where you’re from, your hobbies, why you joined the Local Guides program, and what inspires you to contribute.
BTW @SokunDana your post is fantastic, and the photos are truly picturesque, beautiful, and eye Catching. However, don’t you think the description accompanying the photos feels a bit like an Instagram caption?
Since you’ve categorized this as a Google Maps contribution story, including a more detailed description would make the post even better. When a Local Guide views the photos and reads a comprehensive overview covering what makes the place special, the experience of visiting, and useful details like accessibility & sustainably & visiting hours-their interest in learning about and visiting the location will naturally grow.
While striking photos grab a reader’s attention, a detailed description gives them a reason to pause, read the post, and learn more about the place. So, if you provide a more detailed overview, your Google Maps contribution story will become even more engaging, and Local Guides will be more interested in checking out your post.
Thanks
