The Baba Nagpal Temple is a Samadhi place or cenotaph of the spiritual guru.
The main structure is two-storied with two real-sized elephant statues with the trunks raised forming a welcome arch. The upper floor has a Shiv Ling in the center and huge idols of nine Devi viz. Durga, Kali, Katyayani made in glittering brass installed along the periphery and if you move in the normal Hindu parikrama direction which is anti-clockwise, the number of Bahu or hands of the deity are in increasing order.

The exterior of the temple is a sprawling garden with several decorative statues, like this bell for example, that look beautiful in both daylight and at night when floodlights are focused on them. Another one is a Shiv idol that can be seen when lining up for Darhan.

On the way back from the temple is also a Shiv temple with a peculiar huge lock on its door on the exterior side.

On the front side of the temple is a huge Trishul or trident with a Damru or the Shiv Drum and adorned with several Nag snakes, one of them being a five-fanged cobra. It is interesting to note that the Trishul is mounted on the back of a turtle.

Another attraction is the conch shell that is also located adjacent to the Shiv temple.

тАв The temple is very close to the Chhattarpur metro station and you may pile up in one of the tuk-tuks that ply regularly just for INR 10 for a oneway trip.
тАв The parking for the temple is in the adjacent lodge or Dharamshala and both are free.
тАв There were no ques when I visited this place earlier this week but could see extensive arrangements for the same for peak or festival times.
