Alright so, in my previous post I published about a cute little town called Grass Valley, in Cali, in that same trip using my bestie as a tourist guide I went for a couple of days to San Francisco, and mind you, I almost shed a tear when I got there since I had been dreaming to go for so long. And it was exactly as I would of imagined. Expensive and dreamy.
Most streets are filled with graffitti and all sorts of street art, theres stores of any and every single thing you can imagine, but I mostly went to the ones that sold band shirts, its a thing of mine, now i didnt do a particular touristic spots since i depended on my bestie for the ride but I hope the pics can sum up some of the experience.
so this trip was pretty special because i did it with a friend of mines that scored special pricing on the airplane tickets cuz he worked at Jetblue at the time. We decided to visit Angel, my bestie that lives in Cali for the past 7+ years since he left DR. Little did i know meeting California for the first time would cause me such impact. It almost felt like a second home. Mind you for me my “first” home after my original home which is DR, is New York City (im sure you can tell cuz ive only posted about that ahah) either ways. I stayed in this cute little town where my bestie lived at the time called Grass Valley, California which mind you, is a total witchy town if you’re into that sort of thing (which i am) its filled with stores that sell sage and crystals, the houses are old school, traditional, almost as if the town is “modernly stuck in time”
Now, the most awaited moment for me… was when I finally got to meet San Francisco after so many years of wanting to go. Literally as if I would of walked into a Marty friendly dreamland. Words honestly cannot sum up how I felt but pictures can … sorta
Now i didn’t have time to sum up touristic spots since i was relying on my bestie as a tourist guide but I did have one special request, which was Castro Street. ?
Below some of the pics, I mean I have tons more since I literally never put down my phone while i was there but these can sum up a bit.

PS: I did a Second post about San Francisco you can check on my profile!
I have seen the San Francisco’s Bridge in a lot of movies, several times in action movies the bridge is shown in animations to be destroyed in multiple movies. It’s my dream to see this bridge one day, being there physically. Your picture has reignited my dream. Thank you for sharing.
@martygm Thanks for sharing the photos of your trip to SF. Looks like you’re having an amazing time! I actually live not too far from SF (too expensive to live in the city). Please do let me know if you have any questions about anything related to the area. Can’t guarantee I can answer everything about the city, but I can definitely find out
For your information, I have just released your post from the spam folder and it is now accessible. Some posts are automatically marked as spam, sorry for the inconvenience.
Such amazing photos once again! San Francisco is on my list for sure. It’s one of those cities that need to be seen once. It looks amazing there. Did you have a favorite place or thing about the city? What was something that you would only see in California?
I’ve merged this with your other similar topic as well. Let’s keep things more organized and similar posts in the same thread.
I’ve merged this to your other post about California and San Francisco. Please keep similar posts in the same thread to keep Connect clean and your own posts clear. Thank you.
@DanniS yeah sorry for the mess. One of the post was marked as spam and I redid it in 2 post. Then that one post was released… lol
As a part of the LBGTQ+ community it was mind blowing for me to see such gay friendly areas. (ppl aint a fan here at the caribbean of that) also the up hill streets are something you wont see elsewhere, its a workout to actually go up any of those sidewalks!
@martygm No worries, just wanted to put all together. If you notice that your post has gone to spam, we will release as soon as possible
I’m sure San Francisco is great, no doubt. It looks very colorful and so much to do. Did you go to LA as well? Oh I’d so love to visit all those places! I heard San Francisco is quite expensive?
@DanniS I actually had another post go to spam. I think it was about dragshows. What i dont know is if thats a subject that is allowed since it never got out of spam. Its a special subject for me since it came with an emotional story so i decided to put it out there for the first time, but maybe the subject is nothing to do with being a guide? let me know, i think the post was called “i came to the drag show” something
San Francisco is hella expensive. Altho I stayed at my besties house i did overspent a bit, particulary on some Doc Martin boots that i still wear almost everyday
Never went to LA, but ive heard is not as nice as SF
Here are some reason’s Why was my Connect post marked as spam? that might have affected your post. If it’s still there, then unfortunately it’s not related to our topics.
Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
On the side note, do you live far from NY and San Francisco? Maybe you can share some places from your city?
I can relate to your feelings once being in SF because it’s definitely an amazing city to visit and spend some cool time there. I used to live there and I can say it was a great time of my life. I would come back every time I could!
@DanniS I live in Dominican Republic. Specifically Santo Domingo and no, mostly im a workaholic when im home ,I attended the very first local google guide meet-up here just last week! posted about it. I can take the challenge to see if i can take some local pics. Find some street art that might captivate me which it should #challengeacepted
