It’s Thanksgiving today in the United States and other countries, and we want to take this opportunity to give thanks to all of you here on Local Guides Connect.

We’re thankful for your passion for making the world an easier place to navigate, one contribution at a time. We’re thankful for you mapping places that are accessible, sustainable, LGBTQ±friendly, great for families, people with dietary needs, and more. You help businesses and people through photos, reviews, answering questions, and making lists and edits on the map.

But you also help fellow Local Guides right here on Connect. We’re grateful for all of you who have lent a helping hand, shared a tip, or offered words of encouragement and love to someone whom you might not have met outside of Connect yet.

In less than two weeks, we’ll be announcing this year’s Guiding Stars, the shining examples of the Local Guides community. We’ll celebrate our honorees and the entire community for creating a better Map for everyone.

So thank you for being a Local Guide. What or who are you thankful for this year? Let us know below, and if they’re on Connect — don’t forget to tag them and bring them joy!

Thank you @DeniGu for being the amazing Google Moderator that you are.

Your untiring efforts toward keeping the LG Connect forum in great shape are highly appreciated.

I would like to thank several fellow local guides and mentor including but not limited to dear @KashifMisidia Bhai, @NareshDarji Bhai, and @MortenCopenhagen for their countless, untiring, and high-value contributions towards the community.

Also deeply thankful to dear @SholaIB , and Mukul Anand for keeping the forum alive with their enthusiasm and cheerfulness.

Oh @DeniGu … Ein wundervoller Beitrag, so herzlich und intensiv!

Also lass mich zunächst DIR danken, dafür, ihn geschrieben zu haben!

Vor allem bin ich meiner Familie dankbar, für den Zusammenhalt und die Liebe die sie geben!

Aber du hast Recht, auch hier auf Connect gibt es Menschen, denen ich sehr dankbar bin!

@LudwigGermany zum Beispiel, der mir bei so einigen meiner Fragen sehr hilfreich zur Seite stand, gerade auch zu Anfang :blush:

@AdamGT , der mit seinen Leaderboards meinen Horizont erweitert hat und ebenfalls immer sehr geduldig zu helfen weiß… Gerade einem PC Noob wie mir :rofl:

@TravellerG , der für Jeden die passenden Worte zu finden scheint und immer präsent ist :wink:

Nur 3 von ganz vielen wertvollen Kontakten und herzlichen Menschen die ich hier kennenlernen konnte und weiterhin kennenlerne

Und ich Danke dem Zufall, Google Maps für mich entdeckt zu haben. Eine Motivation regelmäßig das Haus zu verlassen, auch, wenn mir eigentlich der Antrieb dazu fehlt!

Happy thankful Thursday and thank you for all your activities as a moderator. We also wish to say thank you to all the rest of the Googlers Masha,Inas,Tsekov,Kristen_NYC etc. Too many people to tag really !!!

Dear @TusharSuradkar what a nice buddy and moderator you are to us all thank you for tagging me on this.

I’ll surely tag @ErmesT and @MortenCopenhagen on this. They have been consistent and helpful on this forum.

@MrLabule and @SanyaOdare I owe you both thankfulness for your help as local guides to us. @MukulR @TravellerG . Too many people to tag so thank you everyone.

@Designer_Biswajit , He has always supported me and also encourage me to post on connect. He always cares me as a younger brother. He is also nice in our offline meets.

Thank you very much for the post @DeniGu , this is a beautiful worldwide family where every single Local Guide brings something so my thank you goes to ALL Local Guides for the passion, the dedication, the efforts and the contributions :heart: . I don’t explicitly tag anyone because I don’t want to exclude anyone from the tags list.

Thank you also to the complete Google Local Guides team, Moderators (Google and Connect) which support daily this community and to ALL friends all around the world which are in Connect and outside :hugs: .

*What or who am I thankful for this year @DeniGu ?*Well there are a few things and many whom I’m thankful for, so let me break this down into two parts!

What am I thankful for this year!

Most of all, I have to say that I am thankful that the world seems to have won the battle against COVID and I myself here have been freed from the shackles of being locked down in the most locked down city in the world!

We are now able to go out and enjoy cafes, restaurants, theatres, and all those places that we so love to visit, and to enjoy the things that we love to do. We are also able to travel much more freely and widely and of course this restored freedom means that we are able to continue, in a much more relaxed way, creating a better Map for everyone, and after what we have gone through, we can help all those struggling businesses and tourist places who have so missed our custom and many have been badly devastated by the pandemic lockdowns. We can enjoy their services, add reviews and updated photos. Wow! I am most thankful for gaining back this opportunity!

Who am I thankful for this year!

To tag a few wouldn’t do justice to the many that I am thankful for, but I’m certain you will know who you are and let me say, while we may not have met outside of Connect yet, through Connect we have been able to grow closer during the past now going on 3 years and I thank you all for keeping me motivated and giving me the challenges that you have given me, challenges that I must say, have kept me well occupied through the pandemic lockdowns. Through all this, a major part of what I do is and has been this amazing community!

Happy Thanksgiving Deni, the Team, Moderators and all here on Local Guides Connect.

COVID is over, lockdowns are done!

Now it’s time for some serious guiding and fun!

I love to be a Local Guides Connect user @DeniGu and first I thank all of you users like me.We can be simpathetic,original,different, common,etc.We were born in any corner on Earth and we share what we know and we look for other good things or people from anywhere we only can find here Local Guides Connecters.I have good times here.I want you to feel the same.

@DeniGu so thankful for Google Maps for making life much easier. I noticed lately traffic lights appear when maps is on thank you for constantly making changes for the better!!!

First, I am thankful to my family, who always gave me opportunities and encouraged me in my creative work. This is how local guides, Wikipedia, and writing blogs came to me. Boys who live in south Asian culture know how parents are obsessed with government jobs and traditional education.

I am thankful to my siblings, who have always been good listeners and companions on my volunteering journey. You can rarely get a friend who will recognize and listen to you as siblings do. Still, I share every achievement and recognition I get from community involvement with the family WhatsApp group.

I am thankful to my friends who always stood by me and supported my stupid decisions, ideas, and silly mistakes. Also, I am grateful to my fellow local guides around me, who always kept praising me for what I did whenever I met them at random meetings.

I am thankful to connect, who helped me to get so many friends around the globe with the same interest.
