Thanks, @SharmaK, for sharing this. I carried out some testing and noticed slightly different results.

Based on my observations^[1], a participant can still see the “Create recap” option even if they are not the host of the meet-up, provided they have shown interest in attending: either by marking themselves as “Going” or by liking the meet-up post.

However, if no such action ^[2] is taken on the meet-up post, the “Create recap” option is not available for that individual and ‘The event has conluded’ text line will appear.

Below are a few examples from my test results for reference.

Test 1: Performed on January 03, 2026; where meet-up post was liked

Test 2: Performed on January 03, 2026; where meet-up post was neither liked nor marked as ‘Going’

Test 3: Performed on January 04, 2026; Where meet-up post was liked

Test 4: Performed on January 04, 2026; where meet-up post was neither liked nor marked as ‘Going’

I hope this helps bring more clarity to the discussion and supports a better understanding of the intended feature on the topic of this post.

Thanks again for sharing your interpretations based on a large sample — especially your insight about the Create Recap option being available even if someone only liked a meet-up.

Could you please check this link and verify whether the Create Recap option is showing for you (since you liked this meet-up)? I want to confirm if this behavior is consistent.

This meet-up was concluded more than three months ago, based on the meet-up date, @SharmaK. Could you please check and confirm whether the “Create recap” option is still visible to you?

As an individual who has liked this meet-up, I am no longer able to see the “Create recap” option after such a long interval. Instead, the message “The event has concluded” is displayed.

In light of this, I plan to submit feedback to the Local Guides Team through the feedback form, suggesting a feature that disables the “Create recap” option even for the host, if a recap is not published within a stipulated timeframe. After a certain period, publishing a recap may no longer be relevant and could dilute the original purpose of organizing the meet-up and sharing its outcomes with the community.

Yes, @Kumaarsantosh creat recap option is still available to me. Hereby I am shairing screenshot. This meet-up was cancelled.

Thanks for confirming @SharmaK. If the meet-up was cancelled and updated on Connect, ‘Create recap’ link has no significance here.
