Khunia Dighi Memorial Monument

Khunni Dighi, situated just a quarter mile south of the upazila headquarter, was the biggest obstacle in the liberation war of Thakurgaon district. Khulni Dighi has a volume of 6 acres. Almost two hundred years ago, Khulna Dighi was a local landowner who excavated a landlord.
Also, in Shanaya, the businessmen of this area used to go to Raiganj to trade on the side of the dighi. The area of ââthe dighi was solitary junglarkin. Here, a businessman was killed and laid on the bank of the dighi. Then the name of the tank called Khuntia Dighi.
In the great liberation war, the Pakistani army massacred the mass killing massively killing people. Their body was thrown into this pond by killing more than 1000 people.
Here the tributes were given to those martyrs by flowers on 16th December and 26th March at 12.11pm.
How to go: The bus from Dhaka has to come to Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon district. Then bus, microbus, motorcycle, van rickshaw etc. can be added to the Khulna Dighi.
