About this Temple: It is a famous temple frequented by tourists. There is no entrance fee. Parking fee is collected for vehicles.
Srirangam is the foremost of the eight self-manifested shrines and also one of the 108 main temples of Lord Vishnu .
It is situated at the southern tip of India on an Island formed by two arms of the River Cauvery. The temple covers a vast area of about 6,31,000 Sqm. (156 Acres). The temple consists of seven Concentric rectangular enclosures round the sanctum sanctorum. The temple of Srirangam is the only one in India with seven enclosures. Temple is built with granite with beautiful statues, pillars and halls.
Special Entry-Persons who are physically / mentally challenged, aged or terminally ill and who cannot walk will be allowed for Darshan through special entrance at Sanctum. One dependant will be allowed along with them. Battery car is in service for physically challenged and aged persons inside the temple premises free of cost.
