*I was looking for a place to see both, sunset & sunrise in Madrid. And without any doubts Temple Debod, an ancient Egyptian temple, is the right one for these purposes!!!
*In the evening it is full of young people & musicians, nice music is playing on the background of the sunset. What can be better?
Right ! Morning!!!
*Before the sunrise it is a quite place with almost no people at all. Even though google writes that the Park is “closed” before 9 a.m., the thing is there are no gates, nor fences there, so actually you can come right in time to enjoy morning skyline.

Madrid and other cities like Paris are very priviledged to have Egyptian architecture!
I lived for some years in Madrid and it’s indeed a nice place to visit and you feel transported to a different place and time.

Thanks for sharing @uavalentine !
It’s incredible what a change of lighting can do to the atmosphere of a place. They look so different!
When I visit Madrid in the future, I’ll make sure to go here early in the morning. I would choose this setting over a massive crowd any day.
Did you visit any other sites in Madrid that you can recommend for first time visitors?

That is a good queation, @MortenSI !
You gave me an idea to lounch the posts “48 hours in…” whith the main places to visit or at least to start with.
In short, I always take hop-on hop-off bus the very first day in the city I am for the first time, it gives you:
-
The map of the city with nice sightseeing-based plan.
-
The historical and cultural overview.
-
Short 1.5-2 hours drive around the city so you already know what is what and where you would like to go.
Thus, in Madrid I visited Prado museum, Royal Palace, Grand Via and Retiro Park. Most of the day took Prado Museum of course, but it absolutely gorgeous with the pictures of different centuries ans styles, but specially Mona Lisa copy that is (as to my mind) even better than the original one… due to its vivid colors and blue sky…
Highlyyy recommended!!
All all all the best, @MortenSI !!!

I would love to see a post about 48 hours in Madrid or another city @uavalentine !
The hop-on hop-off bus on the first day is not a bad idea. I see how you get a good view of what there is to see around the city. I usually tend to walk everywhere I go, as I feel like I get a better sense of the size of the city I’m in.
Thanks for your suggestions, I will definitely keep them in mind!
